How to generate a large number of accounts via hw wallet and save addresses to file?

How to generate a large number of accounts via hw wallet and save addresses to file? I work in a company which uses a ledger blue hw wallet. They need to generate bitcoin and eth accounts to send to users to deposit to. Currently they have people generating one account at a time in ledger, copy the address, paste the address into our system. We need thousands of addresses (whilst keeping the private keys safe on hw wallets) so this takes hundreds of hours. I was surprised that neither trezor nor ledger blue have an app or utility which will spit out a CSV of accounts on the attached PC, keeping the private keys on the device. Has anyone found such an app? Ledger blue seems to have no api, but trezor does. Has anyone found a way to do something like this through the trezor api? We could easily write a program to generate thousands of wallets, and run it on a new pc which was never connected to the net, but this won’t allow us to use the hw wallet to keep the private keys unfortunate

Sending a Bitcoin Transaction with Pure PHP?

Sending a Bitcoin Transaction with Pure PHP? Does anyone know of a simple PHP script or library that will allow me to send bitcoin transactions without needing to download the blockchain? Basically I just want to be able to use a private to empty the new wallet and send all BTC to a new wallet (minus transaction fees). It seems like it should be as simple as getting the balance, estimating the transaction fee, and then generating a transaction with a private key. Then it could just be automatically broadcasted to 2-3 websites like blockchain.com/btc/pushtx Trying to avoid writing it from scratch and a bit surprised that nothing like this already exists... https://ift.tt/2QpAfLX

Did Bitcoin Core relay blocks sequentially or in parallel to peers before Compact Blocks?

Did Bitcoin Core relay blocks sequentially or in parallel to peers before Compact Blocks? As I can see in the Bitcoin code, currently a node sends a block in parallel to all its peers. This makes sense as the block ng time is relatively small compared to the P2P latency. However, my question is how this mechanism worked before BIP152 when a peer had to send 1MB block? In that case, it makes more sense to send the block first to 1 peer before start sending to the others. This is because if we finish sending the block to the first peer, we will utilize his upload bandwidth faster. https://ift.tt/2zxSsNw

Does this explanation of the security of an electrum seed check out?

Does this explanation of the security of an electrum seed check out? The explanation in question is given here and reproduced below as well: Electrum currently use the same wordlist as BIP39 (2048 words). A typical seed has 12 words, which results in 132 bits of entropy in the choice of the seed. Following BIP39, 2048 iterations of key stretching are added for the generation of the master private key. In terms of hashes, this is equivalent to adding an extra 11 bits of security to the seed (2048=2^11). From the point of view of an attacker, the constraint added by imposing a prefix to the seed version hash does not decrease the entropy of the seed, because there is no knowledge gained on the seed phrase. The attacker still needs to enumerate and test 2^n candidate seed phrases, where n is the number of bits of entropy used to generate the seed. However, the test made by the attacker will return faster if the candidate seed is not a valid seed, because the attacker does not need t

Bittrex toke my BTCP tokens

Bittrex toke my BTCP tokens As some of you recall, we had the BTC ZCL fork this year. For those who had the ZCL on the Bittrex wallet, they were convert to BTCP, but Bittrex wasn´t trading, but it was allow to keep those tokens on the wallet. Due to the market down, I left my tokens on bittrex wallet, hopping one day would trade BTCP. Yesterday I find out that all my tokens were lost. Bittrex canceled all the wallets. All this was done with no warning, at least I didn’t got one. It´s amazing the amount of mail trash that we get from these exchanges and the important things are take like this. In Bittrex defense, they say that, an email was sent. We are talking about money here...keeping your money it´s not something that you inform over email, or you have to make sure that everyone got the message. Imagine if your bank does that, it would be his last day. I think this is the kind of attitude that makes crypto a joke to general people and undervalued. Where can I press charge, or report

double spend attack: Is this actually true for the more time progress the higher the probability of success for attacker

double spend attack: Is this actually true for the more time progress the higher the probability of success for attacker I'm new here. I have a question here. Some experts keep saying that this assumption isn't formally correct and I don't really understand why or why they might be wrong. In the double spend attack; you have attacking network and honest network. Total Hash rate is split between those. some experts keep saying that time is not a factor in determining how fast you can generate blocks. That's something I don't really get. So, is it incorrect to say that the probability of success of the attacker increases with the time T it takes to generate z transactions since they have more time to secretly mine their alternate blockchain ? https://ift.tt/2r91lZs

Slushpool Miner Hashrate always Lower than Local Hashrate

Slushpool Miner Hashrate always Lower than Local Hashrate A Short Story There is an Antminer server farm I provide support for with over 100 BC servers—mainly S9 and T9 models. There are three specific S9 miners that are side by side right next to each other on the rack which continually show lower than normal hash rate in Slushpool. When I check these servers in Slushpool they all three fluctuate often ranging from 11-13 TH/s but the web interface and command line RT and AVG hash rates are always normal with no fluctuation. Every time I check Slushpool though, it's almost always lower than normal and I've checked up to nearly a hundred times in one day just to ensure I was being thorough. Question Is there anything common or something someone else determined that could cause a miner hash rate to always show lower in Slushpool than what it shows from the local server? Notes I've checked both command line and web interface on all these and see the same thing; normal

Running multiple Bitcoin nodes on same network

Running multiple Bitcoin nodes on same network I want to run a bitcoin node on two separate devices (computer + dedicated hardware device) on the same network (and would like them to be externally accessible). Specifically, I have a Casa Node with bitcoind, and I have a Mac with bitcoind. Both on my home network. I've read it is critical that you forward port 8333 on your router to the IP address of the computer that is running your node, so I'm not sure what to do on the dedicated hardware device then. I've seen you can add port and rpcport arguments to the bitcoin.conf file, but I'm can't figure out exactly how this setup will work on the same network with two different bitcoin nodes. Any help by someone more expert (most people likely ha) than me would be appreciated, thanks! Arbitrary access to already confirmed transactions

Arbitrary access to already confirmed transactions This link mentions that "[getdata] can be used to retrieve transactions, but only if they are in the memory pool or relay set - arbitrary access to transactions in the chain is not allowed..." But can't an SPV node do the following to have the arbitrary access to a transaction T (I am assuming that the SPV node knows the block hash H of the block B containing T): set a bloom filter using filterload for T at some full node send getdata request with type MSG_FILTERED_BLOCK and block hash H then in response, the full node will generate two messages for the SPV node: first, a merkleblock of B; and second, the transaction T (as mentioned here and here ) Doesn't this mechanism actually gives arbitrary access to transactions? https://ift.tt/2TYWreS

Is encryption really needed for blockchain to work?

Is encryption really needed for blockchain to work? Is it right to say that Bitcoin and other blockchains do not use encryption? I read somewhere that blockchains rely on digital signatures and hash functions but not on encryption, and that encryption is only used on the client side (e.g. crypto wallets)… But it seems that encryption is also part of these other cryptographic techniques… So I’m trying to clarify whether blockchain technology needs encryption or not. CryptoDredge 0.12.0 Nvidia Miner With Pipe and Dedal Algorithm Support The latest CryptoDredge Nvidia GPU miner update to version 0.12.0 comes with support for two new crypto algorithms, so you might be interested to check out the projects using them. The first one is the Dedal algorithm is used by the Numus project , an older crypto project that just forked to a new algorithm, also supported by the recent update of the T-Rex 0.8.2 miner . The second new algorithm is called Pipe and is used by a new project launched earlier this month called UOU – a p2p crypto message pipe system based on decentralized network. You might want to check both projects out and decide for yourself if it is worth mining any of the coins supported with the latest update, with the current low profit trying with some alternatives might not be a bad idea. Do note that the CryptoDredge miner supports only Nvidia GPUs and is a closed source software that comes with 1% built-in developer fee and with binaries ava

New T-Rex 0.8.2 Nvidia Miner With Dedal Support and Fixes and Improvements Another fast update to version 0.8.2 for the T-Rex Nvidia GPU miner that brings support for a new algorithm – Dedal, adds some extra hashrate for X22i and fixes the skunkhash performance issue introduced in the previous release 0.8.1. The new Dedal algorithm is used by the Numus project , not a new crypto, just forked to a new algorithm from Skein as it became available for ASIC mining. The extra boost of 1-3% for X22i makes the new T-Rex miner even faster and still best performer for SUQA mining that uses this particular algorithm. Do note that the T-Rex is a closed source miner with 1% development fee built-in. Also make sure you have a recent video driver installed (the latest for CUDA 10 support) as the binaries for both Linux and Windows are compiled for CUDA 9.1/9.2/10.0. – For more information and to download and try the latest version of the T-Rex miner… https://ift.tt/2rb9mgl

If you ask me to make changes, I will make them so that my question is more suitable for this SE. If you look at Wikipedia's Comparison of numerical analysis software or Comparison of smartphones , you quickly see information (such as whether the software supports GPUs or only CPUs, or what year the software was first released), that is by no means not available elsewhere, but is probably unmatched in how well it's organized. I wonder if there is such a Wiki (website where users can make their own edits, not necessarily on Wikipedia) for comparing different cryptocurrency wallets. For example the table could include information such as the year that wallet first became available, whether they currently charge a fee for transactions, etc. Wikipedia does have a List of cryptocurrencies but doesn't seem to have a list of wallets. Can non mining full nodes prevent 51% attack? Does it actually strengthen the network? I am confused of its real purpose

Can non mining full nodes prevent 51% attack? Does it actually strengthen the network? I am confused of its real purpose From what I understand, miners secure the bitcoin network by making it very-very expensive to do a 51% attack or double spend bitcoins through the sheer amount of hash power needed to overwhelm the network. That implies, if the hash power happens to be very low (for whatever reason), an entity could theoretically mount this attack and thus reverse transactions or double spend the coins. So what is the role of non-mining full nodes then? Does not seems to serve any real purpose to me? https://ift.tt/2P7mPPH

How should i start learning code of any cryptocurrency?

How should i start learning code of any cryptocurrency? I want to learn about the code of cryptocurrency with all it's features including POS and master node features, currently I have XSN code (stake-net coin) and i want to learn it so i can make use of it to learn different features of blockchain. There is no purpose to clone it or anything. How should i start learning it? I mean from which file should i start learning the code. I have learned basics of c++ but unfortunately I'm not that much good with c++. So from which file should i start learning it there is a lot .cpp and header files. Is there any one can had the same experience learning it? https://ift.tt/2P9rWyW

Bitcoin miners vs non mining full nodes

Bitcoin miners vs non mining full nodes From what I understand, miners secure the bitcoin network by making it very-very expensive to do a 51% attack or double spend bitcoins through the sheer amount of hash power needed to overwhelm the network. That implies, if the hash power happens to be very low (for whatever reason), an entity could theoretically mount this attack and thus reverse transactions or double spend the coins. So what is the role of non-mining full nodes then? Does not seems to serve any real purpose to me? https://ift.tt/2r93Pqw

Blockchain data storage

Blockchain data storage My learning on blockchain is mainly theory based. I have always been under the impression that blockchain is about data processing and data storage which I think this is where I am confused. I have always pictured blockchain as a P2P decentralised data storage system where anyone can transfer/upload/store anything on the blockchain network. Data can be anything of a value. Any upload and transfer of data is encrypted. Data is stored encrypted. There is some magical formula that turns whatever size data into digest. Anyone who retrieve the digest will be able to turn it back to the original content with the key. The more I delve into it, the more it seems I have been understanding it all wrong. Data Storage I understand Bitcoin is not meant for data storage. It can be but not meant for. I read about IPFS. Now, the data storage part whenever it is mentioned with blockchain technology(not restricted to bitcoin), without reference to IPFS or equivalent, does th

Guidelines for Support and Resistance

Guidelines for Support and Resistance Guidelines for Support and Resistance Overhead resistance Overhead resistance occurs when selling pressure overcomes buying demand, sending price lower—at least for a time. Support Underlying support occurs when buying demand overcomes selling pressure, putting a temporary floor beneath the stock Support areas can act as resistance and resistance areas can act as support. Horizontal consolidation regions A horizontal consolidation region is an area of horizontal price movement that has lots of price overlap with a flat bottom, flat top, or both. When price bumps against it, the forex pairs often reverses direction or stalls. Long and tight HCRs (lots of price overlap) work better than do short or loose ones (meandering price). Do not place orders to buy and sell trading signals , or place stop loss orders at numbers ending in zero. That is where everyone else will place their trading orders , perhaps triggering unusual price moves Use the next clo

This transaction has been unconfirmed for a whole week now, and Id very much like to know what happened to my money. Ive checked the address ive send it to and it definitely hasnt arrived yet ( https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/34DSvez8o96XkeqxqZ9bEPSz9ZA4GmyvDK / https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/34DSvez8o96XkeqxqZ9bEPSz9ZA4GmyvDK ). Why do we need a "routing" process in Lightning Network?

Why do we need a "routing" process in Lightning Network? If I am wrong, please correct me. If we simplify Lightning Network, it seems to work similar to this simple unidirectional payment channel between two parties (although, Lightning Network is a bidirectional ). So we may simplify the process of a payment between two parties in Lightning Network as follows: (1) the sender and recipient just need to create a channel and deploy the contract and then the sender puts the recipient's address in the contract as recipient. (2) Then any agreed number of off-chain transactions will be done between sender and recipient such that the sender's address for each mico-payment will be verified by recipient. (3) Eventually, a settlement will be done via an on-chain transaction, by which the recipient will receive the total amount the contract. In a first view, it seems no need for "routing" process. So, can we now ask that why do we need a routing proc

What happens if you receive a block with an unknown previous hash in the header

What happens if you receive a block with an unknown previous hash in the header I searched this question and couldn't find an answer to the following scenario. Block 4440 gets mined at 10:00 AM Block 4441 gets mined at 10:01 AM Lets assume I receive Block 4441 first and 4440 later. What happens? When I received 4441 I didnt know the block with the previous hash and I wasn't able to add 4441 to my chain. Do I store these kinds of blocks with an unknown previous header in a pool and check periodically if I received the previous block? Assuming we do this, do you ever remove old blocks from this pool? If we save "invalid" blocks, how do we prevent people from submitting thousands of invalid blocks and filling up our pool? I assume we check if the difficulty was met but what happens if block 4440 lowered the required difficulty? https://ift.tt/2Rj1vc3

Hide the ID of confidential transactions in blockchain networks

Hide the ID of confidential transactions in blockchain networks For a confidential blockchain, suppose there are three people which join a series of transactions. To hide the number of transactions among them, they need to do some dummy transactions. Suppose the IDs of real transactions (generate by one of the three join people) is in order and the IDs of dummy transactions are random numbers, and they must be indistinguish (other people in the network may know the rule of order of real transactions). So we need to encrypt the ID. However, if we want to store neither the encrypted transaction IDs nor the IDs or PKs of the other two people in these transactions. All I know are ID of one transaction and my PK/SK, how can I use ID to get encrypted ID, then use this encrypted ID to get the transaction information (not store in local, other two people also need to get the transaction by the encrypted ID even the ID is nor generated by them)? Is there any ciphers can meet this? Thank you. h

Order of Exchanging Revocation Keys during Lightning Transactions

Order of Exchanging Revocation Keys during Lightning Transactions How do Alice and Bob share their preimages simultaneously? If they don't, and let's say Alice first sends Bob her preimage. At this point, Bob can broadcast his current commitment transaction, and the previous commitment transaction (as he still has not sent his previous commitment transaction's pre-image to Alice yet). But Alice can only broadcast her current commitment transaction, as she has sent her revocation pre-image of her previous commitment transaction to Bob already. This asymmetry is a bit baffling. If the previous commitment transaction favored Bob, what prevents him from broadcasting it - knowing that Alice cannot penalize him. My guess of an answer for this is that they share their pre-images based on whether value is flowing from Alice to Bob or Bob to Alice. As in, if the previous commitment transaction favors Bob, then he has to share his preimage first. Or some such. https://ift.tt/2zrxz

Is there a maximum size of a scriptSig/scriptPubKey?

Is there a maximum size of a scriptSig/scriptPubKey? Previous research: Transaction's maximum size What is the maximum size of a transaction? The maximum size of a standard transaction is 100k bytes . Are there any consensus rules that prohibit scripts from being too large? I know each individual element of a script has to be less than 520 bytes, as shown here , but a script could still have many many individual elements and create an extremely large block. For example, a malicious miner wants to make the blockchain as big as possible and creates a coinbase transaction with a particular output that has the OP_RETURN opcode followed by enough data to make their block just less than the 1 MB limit. Will the malicious miner's block, in which 99% of the block data is encoded into a dummy OP_RETURN output, be accepted or rejected? https://ift.tt/2Q2RZgQ

New T-Rex 0.8.1 Nvidia Miner With Significantly Improved X22i Performance The latest update to version 0.8.1 for the T-Rex Nvidia GPU miner brings pretty good boost in the hashrate for the X22i mining algorithm used by the SUQA project with 10-20% higher performance compared to the previous release. This helps T-Rex 0.8.1 to overtake the top performance position for X22i from the CryptoDredge 0.11.0 miner that was the fastest previously in that particular algorithm. Have in mind that the skunk performance may be slower by 1% compared to the previous T-rex 0.8.0 version, but that should be fixed soon and meanwhile for skunkhash you can still use the older version for best performance. Do note that the T-Rex is a closed source miner with 1% development fee built-in. Is hashing an optional step to use with public key cryptography for blockchain

Is hashing an optional step to use with public key cryptography for blockchain I am confused by the public key cryptography versions that I've read so far. Are the steps optional, dependable on the types of blockchain or they are referring to different methods? Version 1 ========= Alice to Bob Step 1. Content > Hash > Digest > Encrypt with Alice's private key > Digital Signature Step 2. Digital Signature > Encrypt with Alice's private key + Bob's public key > Digest Step 3. Send digest to Bob In the above steps, Alice uses private key TWICE. First to encrypt the content's digest. Second time encrypt together with Bob's public key. Is hashing optional? Is the hash generated automatically once it is encrypted with Alice's private key? Or encrypting with Alice's private key step is optional? Is step 2 optional too? or are all the above steps automated? Bob received Step 1. Digest > Alice's public key > Content Step 2

New z-enemy 1.25 Miner With Additional Improvements in Terms of Hashrate

New z-enemy 1.25 Miner With Additional Improvements in Terms of Hashrate Another update for the z-enemy 1.25 Nvidia GPU miner that comes with additional performance increase for both the new Nvidia RTX 2080, RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2070 GPUs with up to 10% or even more in some cases. There are of course also optimizations for the older GTX 1080 Ti, GTX 1080, GTX 1070 Ti and lower model numbers from the Pascal microarchitecture, though here the performance boost is lower – just about %3-7%, depending on your video cards. Definetly worth upgrading for the extra performance and there is also a bugfix that reduces CPU usage, so that can help as well to get better hashrate in some cases where the processor was overloaded previously. The latest z-enemy version 1.25 is available for CUDA 9.1, 9.2 and 10.0 for 64-bit Windows versions as well as CUDA 9.0, CUDA 9.1, CUDA 9.2 and CUDA 10 binaries for Linux (HiveOS, PiMP OS, EthOS & Ubuntu). Make sure that you have the respective recent video dr

How to make segwit transaction and bech32 mandatory

How to make segwit transaction and bech32 mandatory Is it possible to make segwit transactions (and possibly segwit address: Bech32) mandatory in the Bitcoin Core code? In other words, when a transaction is created using the wallet, the transaction should be bech32 based segwit and when a transaction is passed to the node, the node should ensure its a segwit transaction with bech32 addresses. https://ift.tt/2Bw12h4

Sorry newbie, I dont get the PoS block creation, to much contradiction

Sorry newbie, I dont get the PoS block creation, to much contradiction I am sorry for the repeat question but I cant find a clear answer. Most of the time PoS isnt explained in detail (only explaining the advantage) and a lot of sources contradict each other and now I am confused. I think I get PoW but I dont get PoS: 1) there seems to be two types of PoS. One where everyone bets on the most likely block to be picked and another where one node is chosen to validates the block based on the amount of coins you hold and some other factors... is that right? In the first case who decides which block to pick? 2) In both cases it was mentioned, that there was no need for miners. So if you only bet or validate, who creates the block in the first place or is creating the hashes? Or does PoS not use hashes anymore? If yes how do they validate with the ledges of the other nodes? 3) If PoS uses hashes and taken there is no competition of who completes the hash first, isnt there a risk that the
